Adrienne walked from Hogwarts school into Hogsmead. It was her second day back at school, only this year George wasnt with her. He had left, and was running a joke shop with his brother in Diagon Alley. She was so proud of him for it.
It didnt meant they couldnt see eachother all the time though. Adrienne was 17, so she could leave the school as she pleased, and as George was a former student, and a member of the order, he was welcome to visit.
Adrienne had last seen George when she had been getting on the train to go to Hogwarts. He had recently lost his ear when they were getting Harry out of the Dursleys house. Adrienne had been out of her mind worried as she waited at the burrow when George didnt arrive as expected, and when he appeared, half unconcous, with blood pouring down the side of his face she could have cried. But she didnt. She went to him and helped fix him up, and now he seemed to be alright
Adrienne walked into the Three Broomsticks, ordered a butterbeer, and chose a seat, waiting for George

George tried to get through town as invisibly as possible. After what happened, not just with the Order but with leaving school the way he and Fred did a few years ago, as it was surely still taked about, George didn't want any more attention that he needed; which is saying something. Not really self-conscious about his injury, but not wanting to flaunt it, he'd pulled one of his homemade wool caps down over his head, to ward off the chill more than anything.
Turning into Hogsmeade's main street, George took a deep breath and smiled, just taking in all the commotion of the street, though it was noticeabley subdued. A shadow casting over him, George shivered and looked around, to find a Dementor not too far away. Of course. Now that he controlled them....
Shaking off the sudden cold and fear that had overwhelmed him, George quickly ventured down the street and into the Three Broomsticks, where his face lit up immediately. "Hey, you," he said, smiling as he crossed the bar and took a seat beside Adrienne. "How's my favorite girl?" he asked, putting his arm around her shoulder after shrugging out of his coat and taking his hat off.

A warm smile spread across Adriennes face as she saw George walking into the pub. "Hey you," she said, kissing him softly as he sat down next to her. "Im ok, I guess.. I miss you though, not being able to see you every day."
Adrienne looked at Georges ear as he took his hat off, and winced slightly as she thought of the pain he must have been in when it happened. "Are you ok?" she asked, watching him carefully.

"I know. I miss you, too, but we're doing it, right? School's where you need to be right now," George said, biting back something about her being safest there, as he knew she didn't care to hear that.
He smiled as Rosmerta brought over a Butterbeer for him, then turned back to Adrinne, in time to see her wince. "I wish you wouldn't do that. It makes me feel disfigured," he said quietly. "I'm fine," he added, before taking a drink and suddenly wishing he'd gotten something stronger.

Adrienne sighed. "Baby, your not disfigured. You know that. Thats not why its sometimes painfull for me to look at it... its because I remember what it was like when you finally turned up at the burrow..." she looked at him sadly. Sometimes she thought he had had it easier in that time before they got him to wake up. "You know I couldnt care less about what your ear looks like." She smiled, wrapping her arm around him. "It just shows how brave you are."

George snorted and allowed himself to relax in Adrienne's embrace. "Brave. Or stupid," he said, shaking his head but smiling all the same. "I must admit, though I got a taste of what it's like to be The Chosen One, I'm glad it wore off. I wouldn't really give anything to change who am I, who I get to come back to," he said, looking down at her face and nudging her with his shoulder. "You know I'll always come back to you. Just like that night....I was late, but I came back," he said, quiet once again as George knew what she must have been thinking when he didn't show up on time. What they had all been thinking.

Adrienne smiled at George, and lay her head on his shoulder. "I know..." she said, though she wasnt sure. "Well.. I hope... I just get so scared that Im going to loose you." Adrienne didnt know if George would leave her, though she trusted him, and believed him when he said he wouldnt. But she could never be sure of what neither of them could control. "Its the same for me," she said, "Ill always come back... I know I dont always stay safe..." ok, that was an understatement, "but for you, Ill make a concious effort."

George chuckled and bent his head, laying a small kiss on her nose. "That's all I ask," he said, wrapping his other arm around her now. As long as Adrienne tried to be safe...that was more than he could ask for, actually.
"So, how are things up at the school?" he asked, as their news on the happenings was slowing down these days. "With that soggy bat in charge....Has it changed much?" he asked, not even bothering to hide his natural disgust for the new Headmaster of Hogwarts.

Adrienne rolled her eyes. "Snape is awful," she said, "hes so strict, and he hates me. Hes already decided that being Headmaster gives him the right to automatically land anyone in detention. I got one for 'lingering in the hallways'," she frowned "what he was doing in the hallways I dont know... but... I dont know, Im just worried. We dont even know what side hes on. Most people have been sure that hes a deatheater, but I dont know... but what if he is working for Voldemort?"

"Snape hates everybody," George muttered, rolling his eyes as Adrienne explained her detention. He coughed quickly, loudly, as Adrienne said Voldemort's name, though. It was one thing to say it in the privacy of the school, even in his and Fred's shop, but outright in public was something else. "Adrienne!" he hissed, looking around quickly for any wayward glances. Not finding any, he turned back to her, frowning. "We've talked about this. You're the last person who needs to be locked up for saying his name, for showing any kind of 'disloyalty' to him," George said, making air quotes and rolling his eyes again. "We've talked about Snape, too. He's just a git, right? Leave him alone. It's not your job to put yourself in danger trying to figure out who he's working for, and what he's doing. He might have a point, though....What were you doing hanging around the corridors?" he asked, now eyeing her suspiciously.

Adrienne flared up imediatly. "If you think Im just going to sit around and wait for something to happen..." she glared at George, but it didnt last long, and soon her face softened. It wasnt his fault, she wasnt mad at him. He just wanted her safe. "Oh, I was waiting for some guy I could have some fun with," she said, sarcasticly, not completly forgetting what George had just said, but then she saw the look on his face. "Kidding! Kidding..." she said. "Actually, I was...." she blushed, realising that George would probobly like this less. She mumbled something he couldnt hear...

"Better than encouraging things to happen," George muttered and, hearing her answer to his question, he took his arms from around her and frowned. "Is that so?" he asked, eyeing her carefully as he turned to face her.
George's frown turned pensive as he realized that Adrienne was blushing, something he hadn't even seen very often. "I'm sorry. What was that?" he asked, leaning in so that he could hear her, seeing as how it was hard enough hearing things now....

Adrienne sighed, and looked up at George. "I was trying to sneak into Snapes office..." she said. "You know... see if hes changed anything significant... I mean, taken something away that he might be using..." she trailed off, shrugging. It had been a stupid idea, but she hated feeling so helpless, locked up in school. "He wasnt wandering the halls at all, he came out of his office while I was arguing with the gargoyles. I thought he was out..."

George nearly choked on his drink, as he'd taken another sip of Butterbeer. "You...what?!" he said, his throat burning slightly from the gag. "Adrienne...that's not your job, and it's just about the most dangerous thing you could do being in school right now. You don't want to get kicked out, and you don't want to be caught in the Headmaster's office, no matter how slimy he is," he said. George stopped the lecture and just looked at her, hating that he was compelled to talk to her like that. It needed to be said, though, even if she didn't pay any mind. "Baby...that's not your job. There's nothing you're doing that the Order's not trying, or hasn't tried. It's not your job to put your life at risk too," he said.

Adrienne looked at George, frowing slightly, so that her nose crinkled. She knew he was in the order, now that he was over 17 and out of school. "I should be in the order." she said, firmly. "I can fight, you know I can, and Ive had more expierience with the Deatheaters then most," George knew that was all true. He couldnt argue with that.
This discussion had already been had, a few times over, often ending in an angry Adrienne. She had asked- almost demanded- to join the order. She wanted to help, and she couldnt stand seeing her friends, and most of all, George, fighting when she couldnt help.
