"You're in school. You can't be in the Order, you know that," he said, calmly but firmly. For the first time in his life, George was set on going by the rules, especially where Adrienne was concerned. He knew she could fight, and very well, but he was going to be the last person to tell her to go looking for something to do. "Can't you just...stay in the castle and wait? Be patient, that's all I'm saying. I'm sure it'll fall into your lap sooner or later. Much sooner for some of us," he said, looking out the window at the nearly empty street, scratching just above the spot where his left ear had been merely weeks ago.

Adrienne had another argument ready, but it died on her tongue as she saw the look on Georges face. "I know baby but... can you imagine how frustrating this is for me?" she didnt even know what was going on. At least before none of them had known, and they were trying to find out together, but now.... She saw George scratching near his ear, and bit her lip. "Does it hurt?" she asked, quietly

"I know it's hard but, considering your current position...it's best that you know less of what's happening," he said. Shrugging, George turned back to face her again, swirling the last of his drink in his bottle. "Not really. It still feels like it's there...doesn't bother me much. Though I do wish my other senses had heightened," he said, half-serious, a small smile on his lips. "Oh to taste with the precision of the buds...to talk so eloquently and in such a manner that I turn heads...to see everything for miles to come...and to pull up the smells around me...to breathe in just the aromatic, tingly kind of smells...." he said, taking a breath of Adrienne's hair as he said it. "Oh, how I wish I could do just that."

Adrienne couldnt help but smile at Georges words. "Give it time, maybe it will come," she said. She gently moved her hand to his cheek, stroking it softly, before tentitivly touching the place where his ear had been. She didnt know why she wanted to do that.... to make it better for him? To prove to him that it didnt bother her? Either way she knew it would make her feel better just to try to stop the pain, even though he said it didnt hurt anymore.

"All good things come to those who wait, right?" he said, chuckling slightly. Smiling, he kissed Adrienne softly on her palm, as her hand caressed his cheek. As her hand moved up to his ear, and he became relaxed from her actions, George wrapped his arms back around her and pulled her to him on the booth seat. "I like this," he said quietly.

Adrienne smiled, and moved close to George. "Me too," she said, keeping her hand where his ear had been, stroking it gently. "Tell me if.. if its not ok. Ok?" she didnt want to make him uncomfortable, and she knew he was sensitive about it. It was a weird thing to be doing, but if it made George feel better about it, nothing bad could come from it.

"Okay," he said quietly. Though it did feel kind of strange, sitting here in the Three Broomsticks with Adrienne, her stroking his ear, it was...strangely calming. Plus, it's not like they were in the middle of a parade or anything. Aside from the two of them, the bar was practically empty. "It's okay," George said again, turning his face towards hers slowly. He placed a soft kiss on her lips and smiled, his hands resting, immobile on her side.

Adrienne kissed George back, just as lightly. "I love you," she said, smiling as him, her hand still on the side of his face. It seemed to calm him down, and she liked that.
Adrienne sighed, then said, continuing from what they had said before, "I know Im not as important in all this as Harry, or some other people... but I hate being left at the side," she looked at George, "people I love are in this fight..."

George smiled as she said she loved him, but before he could respond she was talking about their previous subject again. "Adrienne," he started, letting out a breath of slight irritation and frustration. "I know how you feel, alright? And nobody's as important as Harry is right now, but you can't use that as an excuse to get in the thick of things. You're not standing on the side, either, no matter how much you want to believe it," he said, knowing full well she could be plunged into the depth of this rather quickly if she wanted it badly enough. "In the end, it has to be Harry. You know that, just as we all do. We can help him fight, but right now it's best to lay low. For everyone," he said, really wishing they'd break this topic.

"I know its about Harry, but I want to help..." Adrienne had known Harry since her first year, and they had all joined the DA together. "And I just cant stand it. Knowing that when Im in class or in detention or doing something else completly meaningless you could be in the middle of a battle. And Im just sitting there not doing anything."

"You're surviving. That's the best thing you can do right now. For me, Adrienne, please. Don't try to put yourself in the midst of things, it wont help any," George said, knowing how reckless she could get when she was feeling listless. "Battles are less frequent, now that Harry's back in school. He's at Hogwarts, only a matter of time until he's cornered there. You can't worry about me, I'll be alright. Haven't I already proved that?"

"But George, you came so close last time..." Adrienne said, biting her lip. Another inch to the right and he would be dead. "And if you... if I found out you died and I hadnt done everything I could to save you..." she didnt know how she could live with herself after that. She didnt know how she could live. End of.

"Dammit, Adrienne!" George said, not really meaning to shout, though he was more irritated than he should have been. "You can't save me, don't you get it? Even if you were there, I still might've died. But this is the risk I take. The risk we all take! I'm an adult, and so are you, but you're still in school. Don't put yourself in danger just because you think it might be better for the both of us to die," he said, his voice lowering now that he'd exploded. He looked at Adrienne briefly, shaking his head as he got up and put his coat on. "I'm sorry I yelled, alright? It's just....I have to go," he said. Not waiting for an answer, and not wanting to think about what he'd just said to her, George left the bar and walked down the main street of Hogsmeade. It wasn't until he reached the end of the lane that George turned back, but only for a moment before turning on the spot and disapparating.

Adrienne watched George leave in shock, but he was gone before she could even open her mouth. She didnt stand up, she stayed sitting down, fearing that if she got up she might not be able to stay up. After a while, she put down money on the table for their drinks, and got up, walking out of the pub. What hurt her the most wasnt that he had gotten so angry. It was that he hadnt even said a proper goodbye... and everytime he left she wondered if that would be the last time she saw him.
