Fred was in the back of the shop, cleaning up a few last minute things before they opened for the day. Twirling a beaten broom in his hand, Fred hummed as he waved his wand, watching the dust particles on the floor as they spun and then disappeared. Whistling, Fred began to take boxes down from the shelves. He thought it was best to get their restocking down before the shop opened, as apposed to the last time when the place was crowded and there was barely room for him to set his left foot down.
Only vaguely wondering where George was, as it wasn't rare that one of the twins opened the shop alone, Fred turned when he heard the sound of the tinkle that signalled someone had entered the shop. "We're not open yet!" he called, without even glancing over his shoulder, as he was still moving boxes, hidden by the curtain that separated their store room from the shop.

Adrienne entered the shop, the bell making a noise as the door opened. She saw Fred stacking shelves, and walked over. "Hi, Fred," she siad. It was saturday, and she hadnt seen George since Tuesday, when they had fought. She hadnt been able to get a hold of him, and she had only just been able to get away from school now. "Is George around?"

"I said-Oh. Hey, Adrienne," Fred said, smiling as he walked out of the back room. He walked to the door and pressed his face to the glass, frowning at a group of first years that had been about to open the door. Pointing to the sign that still said they were closed, Fred turned the lock and smiled widely, before turning back to Adrienne. "George, you say? No, I haven't seen him. He's been in and out this past week. Well, we both have really, but...I thought he was with you today since...well, you don't have to be at the castle," he said. On the edge of worry, that was taken away as the first years rattled the door. "Hey! Damn gits, we're not open yet!" he yelled through the glass, his face tinting red as he brandished his fist and waved it.

Adrienne shrugged. "We, er, kinda had a fight," she said, "But I havnt seen him so I wanted to... whoa, Fred, dont burst a vein!" Fred had gone red and was looking furiously at some first years. Adrienne pointed her wand at the door, and locked it so no more could get in, then smiled. "Being 17 is excellent!" she said. "So, any idea where I could find him?"

"Some kids just don't know when to quit!" he said, shaking his head. Glancing back at Adrienne as she double-locked the door, Fred stuck his tongue out at the group before working his way back to the store room. "No, haven't seen him this morning. Like I said, I thought he was with you," he said. Unloading a few more boxes, Fred began to whistle again, before he really thought of what Adrienne had said. "Yeah, everyone's a bit touchy with each other lately. I'm not surprised that he got mad at you, but I am surprised you haven't made up yet. That is, I'm assuming, what happened?" he said, glancing back at Adrienne, but only briefly as the box he'd been carrying exploded. "Whoo! Have I been looking for these!" Fred said in excitement, as he picked up what looked to be a normal set of keys. The rest of the box seemed to be empty, though you could barely tell with all the pieces of cardboard discarded on the floor.

Adrienne had been about to answer, when the box exploded and she jumped. "Whoa!" she said, looking at what Fred had pulled out with a raised eyebrow. "ok then..." she was about to sit on a box, but thought better of it, and decided to sit on the counter instead. "Well, he wants me safe at Hogwarts, I want to be in the order..." she sighed. George just didnt seem to understand how important it was to her to fight.

Fred tucked the keys safely in his robes, though it took some time and a lot of concentration as they tried to scuttle away from him. When he finally got them to stay put in the pocket, though you could see their little key feet poking out every now and then, he turned to look at Adrienne. Silent for a moment, Fred wasn't sure to say, as he didn't want to get caught up in the middle of a lover's spat and didn't want to choose sides. "Well, I think...." he started, then frowned, not sure he should even be giving his opinion. "I think you shouldn't worry about George. I know what it's like to want to fight and have people telling you different, but I also know what you mean to George. If he doesn't want you to fight...well....Don't worry about it. You guys will be alright," he said, before going back to the front door and finally opening it. The first years practically spilled into the shop, all wearing smug, triumphant looks on their sour little faces. "One wrong move and you're dead!" Fred hissed to the smallest of the group, chuckling when he jumped.

Adrienne frowned slightly. Fred had gone to let the first years in before she could even reply. "Ill just wait around here until he gets in," she siad to Fred when he made his way back to the counter. "Is that ok? I really need to talk to him, and I dont fancy waiting another week to do it."

"Suit yourself," Fred said shrugging. He began humming again as he walked behind the counter, pulling down extra potion bottles. He brought down a rather large jar and, unscrewing the lid, pulled out the keys from his robes and shut them in the jar. "Ha, get out of that, sucker!" he said, shaking the jar to agitate the object. Smiling to himself, Fred put the jar on a high shelf and returned to the back room, where he pulled the boxes he'd brought down into the open shop.
"I see you've-" George started, as he bounded down the stairs from their overhead apartment. He stopped when he saw Adrienne, though, and immediately detoured around the counter to join his brother in the back room, where he began to speak in rapid whispers with Fred.

Adrienne had began to smile when she saw George coming down the sairs, but it faded when he saw her and turned away in a different direction. Did he not want to see her? It had just been a stupid fight... nothing really terrible had been said. He had just gotten angry and stormed out... Then not bothered talking to her for the best part of the week... And now he wouldnt even see her. What was his problem?

Fred frowned and stood up, his face stoic as he turned to his brother. He stomped out of the back room and behind the counter, grumbling and grinding his teeth as he pulled down the jar with the keys inside. "Ruining all the fun," he muttered, pulling off one of the keys legs before resealing the jar and marching back to George.
"It's not supposed to explode, right?" George said, as his brother came back to him with the article.
"Maybe not, but it's better that way," Fred argued, shoving leg into George's open hand. Grumbling some more, Fred turned back to the boxes, where he began to stock the shelves, growling at the passing first years as they walked the aisles.
"Kids," George said, shaking his head at Fred's back.
"I heard that!" Fred yelled, violently shoving potion bottles on the racks.
George chuckled and walked back to the counter, shrugging at Adrienne. "See they let you guys out today. We weren't sure if they would," he said, tapping a drawer with his hand at the register. The drawer opened and George dropped the key into it, before locking it with another tap of his wand. "I'm sorry," he said awkwardly, not looking at Adrienne but at the customers, part of his mind making sure Fred didn't haggle them enough to make them leave.

Adrienne frowned at George as he came back over to the counter. "Im 17, I can leave when I please." she said, hoping that would act as a reminder to him. "And sorry, what was that? I didnt catch it." As far as she could tell, he had just apologised to the customers.

"Of course, how could I forget. One more adult running around here who thinks they've got all the power and all the answers. And I said I was sorry even before now, but if you didn't hear it then you're not listening," George said, snapping back at her. He didn't look apologetic this time, only irritated again as he left the counter and went to join his brother and their merchandise boxes.

"What are you talking about," Adrienne said, following George, "And dont you dare walk away from me like that again, George. Im not something you can just pick up when you feel like it." she was angry now. "I dont think I have 'all the power or answers' as you put it, in fact, I know I dont, but you dont even seem to realise that Im more then just your girlfriend. Things happen when your not around, you know. Things happened before your around. And if you think for even a second that you know what the deatheaters really do then you are very, very wrong." she had heard stories when she was little... she had grown up with a deatheater without even realising it. Now she understood what the stories were really about. The ones she listened at doors to hear. "If you think Im just going to sit quietly in the castle and let it all happen then you've got another thing coming. Im not some damned hypocrit, George, Im not going to pretend its not happening." she was glad to be out of the store, because this wasnt something she wanted the whole world hearing.

George waited until Adrienne had finished her little speech before turning around to face her. "I can walk away from whoever I want to, even if it is you. I never said anything about picking you up just when I wanted to. If I recall correctly, that's more your style, isn't it?" he said coldly, his face turning red with real anger now.
Standing behind his brother, Fred opened his mouth. "Hey, come on now! You'll frighten the kiddies!" he said, laughing uneasily and gesturing towards the open shop, wher the bell could be heard tinkling mutliple times now as more students entered.
George shook his head at Fred's comment and took a step towards Adrienne. "You don't think I know what the Death Eaters can do? Do you honestly think I have no idea what I'm up against, what we're all up against?! Tell me what you think happned then, Adrienne. Go ahead. Did I just sit around then and rip my own ear off for the fun of it! You're not the only one who hears stories, Adrienne. You're not the only one who's had those experiences in life, so stop acting like the whole world is always against you. Other people have problems too," he said, his hands balled into fists as he stared her down. George's heart was racing as he talked back to Adrienne, but he was just so close to being pushed to the limit these days and her frequent cries for more are what let him fall. "You're right though. You are an adult. If you want to risk your life, go for it. Who am I to stop you? If you don't want to be here, then leave. Just leave," he said quietly, eerily calm.
Fred cleared his throat loudly to break the tension and said, "I'll just...." before dipping out of the back room and into the main shop, where he consulted half-mindedly with the customers.
